1997 V/P 4.3GLPLKD or OMC 432BPLKD with cobra SX drive

Following users manual for winterization, had a couple of questions. Boat stored outside in TN slightly bow high and tilted slightly starboard.
1. Pivot Housing Drain. Drive unit stored down. Tilted up (manual said) took off water drain plug (aluminum screw) on port side, no water, tilted down (manual said) no water. Cleaned out white powdery stuff from drain till got to something colored/painted black, still no water. I cant get water to come out of this hole!
2. Manual says drain Oil Coolers by removing the water hose from the oil cooler. I can't find oil cooler!

Have already drained:
Large hose at water pump on block.
Both cylinder block plugs with screw poked into holes (lots more water left after using screw to loosen debris/rust).
Both manifold hoses.
Both hoses on lower starboard water pump and turned engine over a couple of seconds.

Thanks
Chris

1. That screw doesn't go to anything anymore. If the drive is all the way down, the water drains out of the drive.

2. There isn't an engine oil cooler, they are referring to the power steering cooler. Usually found on the back of the engine.

Thanks Don!

Just went and looked, is there a drain on the power steering cooler I need to open to drain out fluids for winterization purposes? If so, would you enlighten me?

Drive Unit Serial # is T00815147.
Don't think it'll make a difference to The Oracle, but just in case.

I think I got it from the power steering schematic. Water supply pump (lower starboard pump) has hose that goes to "oil cooler" in power steering diagram. Assuming it is oriented vertically, draining both hoses of water supply pump should have done the trick, correct?

Yeah, if it was mounted vertically, or the end you took the hose off of was the low side of the cooler, if not, it won't work,

It was the low end. Other end was 1-2 " higher. Thanks for the clarifications Don. You have once again saved yet another boater money.
