I have a single quicksilver gear shift for my 1988 5.7 liter merc. IO..<br /><br />It seems to shift fine but there is no pronounced locking neutral. This can be a pain when docking cuz she tends to engage into reverse without warning. It will frequently cause the engine to cut out. <br /><br />Question: Is this a gearshifter issue or a cable issue. What should be explored to identify cause and what are the appropriate remedies?<br /><br />Thanks again guys.....
