I just found out that I have the same issue. I'm not sure you have to abandon your oil injection system but I believe that most people do because it's an easy solution. In my case, I have a bad gear and was told, by a very trustworthy service person (someone that I've know for 15 years) that the engine will need to come apart. The alternative is to "default the oil injection", which means mix your gas and disconnect the oil alarm from you alarm module. Me personally.... when I was shopping for a used bass boat I specifically wanted an oil injected ouboard, thus I'll go ahead and pay to get the injection system repaired.
