Outdrive trim problem

Hi,

I own a 2002 Bayliner Trophy 2052 with a 4.3 V6 2 barrel carburetored Mercruiser engine and a alpha outdrive.

Here's my problem: when in the water my trim switch on my throttle lowers and raises my outdrive just fine. But when on the trailer my switch won't raise the outdrive unless I push the trailer button, it will lower but not raise the outdrive. I've taken off and cleaned all the wires on my ground block and the pump.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
Bill

Actually sounds like it is above the trim limit when it is on the trailer. Do you have to trim up to put her on the trailer? Do you understand the difference between trim and tilt (trailer button)?

Yes I do understand. I can lower my outdrive all the way down with the trim switch while on the trailer. But the trim switch wont raise the unit at all, just the trailer switch will.

Thanks for the quick response

Odd, for sure. It's like your trim switch knows when it's on the trailer . . . I guess it explains why they use that name for the "tilt" button
