help please ? had trouble all summer ......iv had a sticking fuel float now fixed . then i had no sparks on a couple of plugs after lots of cleaning i got it down to just number 3 wont play at all iv changed the coils around and that checked out ok now before i spend any money on a icu or go bk to the sektor for corrosion. im not the best machanic so help is needed ..???? thanks ......o ???? and it starts great no problem but after half trotle the power just stays the same .......this is under load afloat

the lack of power at WOT is because you don't have spark on all cylinders. Not sure on what you mean by ICU or SEKTOR?? Spark is either a bad startor, trigger, switch boxes, or coils. Go to the CDI web site and find your engine, it will show you how to test all those parts. You'll need a tester and a DVA adaptor. Find out what is bad and replace it.

check your commpression before you do anything. Sounds like it could be low from what im hearing.

could be a bad power pack,or a bad high speed stator,
if you say there is no spark on #3 then that can very well be a bad power pack.

im having the same problem with my 85 inline 6 and ive had all the carbs rebuilt now,new power packs installed,tune up,and when i start the engine it idles great,it will go up on plane hit wot for about 5 minutes then die,it will start again but it wont idle or rev up past 2000 rpm,
my next move now is to install a new high speed stator,if this fails the boat is getting blown up....lol
