New Starcraft owner here

I believe I've found myself a 16 ft (15'8") 1967 Sportsman V, It has unfortunately been gutted by the time I found it, and there are no identifying tags or labels to be found. Thus far I have stripped it of the rotted wood floorboard removed a wood board from the transom, and wire wheeled most of the transom. Which revealed that it must have been treated because of all the pitting. some of which went right though. What i do find interesting is the solid fiberglass transom. If anyone has better information about this boat feel free to speak up, I plan on making it a pleasure/fishing boat, as I enjoy just cruising around as much as I like fishing. Nice looking tub.
Man that transom has a lot of holes in it. That will take some work but should be fine.
Keep us posted on the progress.

Well you can tell it has seen some saltwater based on the amount of corrosion, but as mentioned this can be fixed with some work and the right materials and she will be a nice rig for ya.

Very similar to the 16' SuperSport hull, that will be a nice rig for cruising and fishing. Check out some of the restoration projects, many Starcrafts on the site here.

If you click on the "Starcraft Collection" thread in my signature you'll find a whole bunch of projects going on. You'll want to find Jspano's and check out how he fixed up his transom. I really like how he completed that job.

Nice looking boat sir. I am sure you will enjoy the resto process and there is a wealth of information available to you for the taking. Keep up the pics, V8 will take care of your dues, ( he is a heck of a guy)
