I have a 1998 Grady-White, F26 Tiger Cat with twin 1998 Yamaha 150?s.
One of my dock lines broke so the Port Motor spent a week bumping into a dock piling.
Now the Port Motor is pointing away for the Starboard Motor.
Anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks for any input.

Probably stretched cable, see if you can take up the slack.

If they both are connected to their own cable, as the post above mentioned, stretched/broken cable. If they have a steering rod between them, its far more than an adjustment. SOMETHING is bent/broke and needs to be replaced. Adjusting it is a very poor bandaid that could break in a bad way down the road.

Undo the dock line on the other side for a week.

Twins are always joined by a connecting/steering rod, so the rod is probably bent. If it had hydraulic steering look at the shaft from from the cylinder.

its a cat boat so there is probably not a steering rod. most cat boats i have seen use a liquid tie bar... where it is a hydraulic line that connects the steering rams. there is a valve in the middle somewhere that you can open to adjust the motors.

This is correct, based on my own experience with my cat. However, something may well be damaged from the constant pounding and if so, it is going to be expensive.

I wouldn't think it would be that difficult to see the damage if it exists as the workings for the hydraulic steering system are probably in plain view, but not the hoses.

If the damage is not apparent, then try adjusting the proportioning valve, this is located inside the transom between the sponsons in all likely hood.

The valve should be full open (based on my system) and adjusts in one direction (closing) to change pressure to the starboard engine. Small adjustments can have large impacts on the steering characteristics.

However, I think it more likely that the steering ram may be bent/deformed.
