Hi, new to this site. i have a 50hp mariner 1990s) which i put on the water today, it has had new impella, new starter motor, compression 160 on every cylinder, everything all sound..

However run it today for some reason wont full throttle, i put it in neutral and lift the choke up(merc controls) electric choke) and it revs lovely and sounds powerfull, but when i put it in gear i feel i am only getting half power when im giving it full throttle....

after over 1000 spent on the engine i just need the thing to peform.

could someone please please shed some light..

thanks in advance
Matt

Check your basics....spark,compression and fuel. Since you have alreadycheck compression check spark as it may not be firing on all cylinders...

Sounds like a faulty switchbox....is a 3 or 4 cylinder so I can post you a link to troubleshoot it?
