removal of motor for deck repair, yes or no?

Do i need to remove my motor if i do rip up the floor of my boat to repair, and if my stringers are stuffed can i leave the motor on still, it is a 70 hp or do i have to remove it.

If deck & stringers are bad, odds are the transom is, or soon will be, also bad. Removing the motor is the easiest step in the job.

yeah, what they said.

remocing the motor really isnt bad. if you have a garage with exposed rafters and a come a long its easy to lift it off after you unbolt it and disconnedt the controls and steering.

but the motor is not in the way at all, i have read a write up on a boat repair shop and they left motor on to do the deck repair.

the transom is already done.

If its not in the way .. then dont.

Bag it good though while you do the reps..and secure your trailer so it Does not move :) .
