I was having a problem that the outdrive would not trim out/up while on plane. I pulled the trim pump and found that the trim hoses and wires were reversed. The top solenoid UP was hooked up to the green motor wire and DN solenoid was hooked up to blue motor wire and the black hose was in the DN hose port and the gray hose was in the UP hose port. Done by PO / mechanic. Now it is all hooked up correctly.

Anyway if I run the trim all the way up the bellhousing is getting gouged by the gimbal ring 2 bolts. See picture. Should the outdrive / trim ram stop before this happens? Maybe I have the wrong size trim cylinder tube 16.5".

Thanks,
PF

Re: Trim up hits against bellhousing Unbelieveable PO

Looks like I have the longer trim cyclinders PN#14035A3 & 14034A3 16.250" Long and I should have 98703A3 & 98704A3 15.5" long. The difference is 3/4" or 6? of tilt. I guessing who ever repowered the boat used wrong trim cyclinders and wired the pump/motor up wrong.

The joys of making things right and not doing it half *****.

Do it right the first time not the 3rd time.
