After my temp to perm job did not ever go perm, then they didn't hire anyone for that spot i had to go job hunting again!

Found a small family owned company after filling out more applications than i could remember.

They offered me a full time driving job with benefits.

So,going to give it a try. It will be hauling for West Marine out of their new distribution center near me.
I thought it was ironic!...being i refuse to shop at West Marine.

I start next week as soon as they get my truck decals done and i get moved into the new ride...

I am newly loyal to Navistar and I HATE the Lonestar. I have always loved Paccar and the T2000s are pretty dang cool. Nice looking ride. Too bad they can't keep off the decals . . . :)

Congratulations Gary! What's under the hood? Cumm-apart or their new MX (DAF (dutch) engine made here)?

This truck is not brand new but in really good shape.
It has the yellow engine...kitty,kitty....;)

The guy in the shop said he was turning it up near 500 hp..
Nice thing about the small family owned company. No computer in the cab watching us and the trucks will run.

Good to hear of someone getting a job instead of being laid off. The kw that you are getting are nice rides, at least mine was. Keep the left door shut and the right foot down. Happy trucking.

The loadstar looks like a pt cruiser on steroids.

Cool!! C13 or C15? Both are going to run strong and they are both non-SCR so very good, reliable stuff. And if you say you don't know, I'm gonna ask if you'd even twist the handle on a little OB without knowing? :p

The C15 is now being sold as a long block to Navistar and it will be their new MaxxForce 15 when that comes out next year and is slated for the Lonestar. Navistar and CAT are also in a Joint-Venture to produce a Caterpillar branded truck that will be sold through Caterpillar dealers. Just a little engine/truck trivia.

It is the C15 engine,I assume these are computer controlled because the mechanic said he would plug in and turn the power and speed up on it.

The last truck i drove long term was powered by a series 60 Detroit.
The Volvos i was just driving at the old job were dogs. They had them set at 67 mph and pulling a hill if you let the rpms get over 1700 it would set off an alarm to dispatch...
Those were some slow trucks to get a heavy load up through the gears.

The KW is a 10 speed OD with 3:36 rears.Maybe the Cat will pull good.

Re: Starting a new job.....again!

hey gary, congrats. beautiful truck.

last time i seen it the lonestar HD was 150,000 sorry but i think that is without doubt the most ugly truck on the road. seen one the other day on the road, just didn't do anything for me. last thing i drove was a '01 kw quad axle dump. was a pretty nice ride.

Thanks Avenger,
Yep,That Lone Star is kinda over the top with that big dang grille on the nose.
I always liked the sleepers in the Internationals, weren't they called a Pro Star or something like that? I had a leased one for a couple months and the sleeper was great.

We always called International a 13 letter sh#* spreader...:D
The old cab overs rode like farm equipment...lol!

I work closely with Navistar, I write the diagnostic manuals for many of their trucks, the lonestar is nothing special or new, just a fancy body. Navistar just entered the world of Multiplexing...the truck industry is ages behind small auto... just wait untill the cat-international trucks come out
