The tilt causes the engine to die.. when I cruise it is fine, if I adjust the trim it will kill the engine. any ideas

We are ok now.... the main harness in the engine compartment was a little loose.. the engine runs perfect now..

Does it kill engine or make it loose rpm? Usually on a Merc its a grounding problem between swivel bracket and midsection or stator output is low...
