I've a 7.4L powered 23' Wellcraft '95 model (Gen V). I've had to repower this year and due to circumstances (read $$) I installed a Gen IV block and crankshaft. I used the flywheel from the gen V on this gen IV.

My question is if there is a balance issue difference that I need to take into account concerning this flywheel.

Re: Crankshaft balance question: Gen V vs Gen IV

Yes. According to the factory Chevy Power manual, the Mark IV flywheel #3993827 is different from Gen V. They list 2 different Gen V flywheels depending on crank material; #14096987 is for forged steel cranks only, and #10101169 is for cast iron cranks only, due to weight differences between cranks. Hope this helps.
