I tried to winterize my '98 250 Sundancer last night (5.7L Merc engine)...steps taken:
1) Removed all "blue" plugs I saw - three on port one on starboard side
2) Removed hoses from intake on top front of engine, removed intake for direct access to engine block
3) Let water drain - put plugs back in
4) Removed hose from hot water heater (red) and opened faucet and let drain
Seemed like it was going well at that point...my dad was helping me (he has winterized our 19' boat for as long as I can remember - never had an issue) and when we went to fill the block with the pink stuff it only took about a cup and then didn't fill anymore. He said his boat takes a gallon at least.
I realize that with the water system, heat exchangers, etc...on the Sundancer its a bit more complicated...but didn't think this much.
Anyone have step by step (I need really detailed please ) instructions on how to winterize this make and model? I would appreciate it...
