what i have is a 15 ft. alum boat. the bottom is about 12 in. further out than the transom, sort of built in tabs or something? it is a 1957 lawney, so if anyone knows about this boat, please let me know. the bottom has 5 strakes. currently have the transducer mounted on a adjustable transom bracket on staeboard side.so 2 questions can i mount the speed sensor on the port side, and how far should they be mounted from the prop wash? boat is powered by a 93 40 hp. johnson. thanks for any assitance.

Re: transducer mounting

This is an outboard, correct? Why are you concerned about prop wash? Do you ride around in reverse?

Re: transducer mounting

I believe the instructions call for 10-12 inches away from the prop. Don't mount it directly inline with one of the strakes either.

Re: transducer mounting

i might have got the term wrong, what i meant was i get a lot of water off both sides of the motor when on plane. was just wondering if it effected the transducer and the speed sensor wheel. and if i needed to change the distance of the mounting position. thanks for any help.
