1986 Glassport 4.3 L OMC

I have purchased a 1986 19Ft Glassport bowrider. It has a 4.3 omc engine. Problem I am having is, sometimes the boat will start and other times it won't. I have changed points, plugs, cap and rotor, plug wires, coil and coil wire. Still does the same thing. I have changed fuel pump just to be sure. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Have you changed the water/fuel seperator ??

I like to put about 1 table spoon full of gas in the carb and try it. If it starts that way you look at your choke setting and accelerator pump. Sounds like you have been everywhere else. If its a spring loaded choke it should be firmly closed when the throttle is not at idle. It will start to open after the engine develops vacuum and heat. Do a search on this site. many posts on it. Some times the interrupter switch will hang. make sure it is open.
