Re: Leak in aluminum fuel tank

I am not familiar with the boat you reference, but I have replaced my tank and it is a lot of work. Do not do anything to cause a spark, disconnect the ground lug on the battery. I am assuming it is under the deck. Is there a floor panel you can remove? If not you may have to remove the whole deck from the hull or cut a hole in the deck and then repair it. I have had friends that have done both ways.

Welcome to iboats!

Since you're asking, I'm guessing that the fuel tank is under the cockpit sole (a.k.a. deck). Unless there is an access panel (again, I'm guessing there isn't or you wouldn't have asked), you are going to have to cut out a section of the sole. To prevent a fire, empty the tank and fill it with water to drive out any remaining gas fumes.
