What all should I change/replace?

I bought a hydrosport with an 84 mercury black max 150 that had been sitting up for about 10 years. Thanks to this forum I got it running but now I want to know what all need to change or replace. I got it cheap so I font mind doing everything that needs to be done. I know it's not pumping water so I need a water pump kit. What else?

Water pump definitely as you know. Carb cleaning and rebuild kits would be good idea as well. Fuel pump rebuild kit and maybe some new plugs.

That is one of the great things about outboards. You can drag one out of a field and if it runs, run it! The carb rebuilding can help prevent a lean condition in case you've got some crap/varnish built up in there. Check also for brittle wiring.

Be sure to install a fuel/water separater on your transom. Walmart sells one for $27, easy, 2 screw installation, can save you a lot of fuel/ethanol/water related problems. Good Luck!
