Hi Guys, been a long time reader of these forums and finally got around to registering.
I'm trying to replace the prop on my Mariner 40 and the outboard model/serial number as well as the number on the prop aren't coming up exactly on the various lists of motors and replacement props. One of the prop companes has a prop-finder application (http://www.rubexprops.com/dealer/index.php#OEM)
that makes you choose the manufacturer and horsepower then offers choices for the Model. I don't know whether to choose "2 stroke (13 spline)" or "Japan Tohatsu Origin (13 spline)". I know for sure my outboard was made in Japan but I tought it was Yamaha not Tohatsu. Anyway, if someone could help me sort this out I'd really appreciate it
Here's what my motor reads (charts suggest maybe it's a 1987 or 1989 but the numbers aren't an exact match, any ideas? The "0" part of the model isn't listed, maybe that stands for "Oil Injection"):
Model: 40ELTO
Code: 6E9 L
Serial: 503230
Here's what my prop reads:
48.73138 A40L 14P
Any input or ideas would be very much appreciated!
Thanks,
Chris in MA.
