Prop hub?

I have a 1973 johnson 20hp and the other day o tried to take itout but the prop isnt spinning the shaft at the foot it but the prop wont. WHat could it be?

Sounds like s spun prop to me. You will need to find a dealer that can repair it for you or get another prop. Sorry for the bad news.

Remove the cotter pin, nose cone (comes off counter clockwise) then the prop, check the drive pin behind the prop, could be broken, wrong or missing.

Second like oldcat said, prop hub.

How much does it cost to repair? and if the hub is broken do i need a whole new prop?

Some shops will rehub them , might be easier to find a used one.

Around here a re-hub costs around $45. If the prop is otherwise in good shape, I'd go for the re-hub. If you buy a used prop for less money, there's no guarantee it won't need a re-hub too.
