Bought this a year ago, used, and it runs pretty well. An authorized Evinrude mechanic told me the VRO pump was unplugged....BUT.....I premix my gasoline, and the motor is still using oil from the reservoir as well. I haven't fouled a plug but they are oily, and there seems to be too much smoke.
It does still start up and run pretty well, but once in a while it will stumble coming out of the hole.
Runs well - but am worried that may not last. Is there something else that needs to be done to disable the oil pump than simply unplugging it? Any ideas why or how it is still pulling oil if it really is unplugged?
