Hey guys new to the site. i have a lowe fish/ski 185 and when we removed the trolling motor batteries last winter i did not take notice to how they were hooked up! (not connected to main terminal, has 2 seperate 12 volts on their own)

now this may sound like a really really silly question but i will describe what im looking at with the 4 wires coming out. (they are wire harnessed together)

there is a red wire (with a red terminal cover) (with fuses)
there is a orange wire( with a red terminal cover) (with fuses)
there is a black wire (with a black terminal cover) (no fuses)
and theres a black wire with a blue stripe going around it (no terminal cover)

how am i connecting these two together?!

any help would be appreciated.. i cant seem to get it to run 24 volt.. it only runs 1 battery

Re: Hooking up a 24 volt trolling motor

The red and black go to one battery and the other pair goes to the other battery. If there were just three wires in the system rather than four, wiring would be different. The 24 volt series connection is accomplished with a switch on a panel at the bow or else through the trolling motor plug. My guess is you have a Marinco plug with a jumper in it.
