I have a 1999 Johnson 150 and when I first arrive at the lake I prime the bulb in the fuel line and it becomes what I would call Semi-hard. The boat runs fine on the first trip out but when I stop and fish for a while (30-40min) and I restart the engine it does not want to idle and when I put it into gear most of the time it will die also. I can throttle the engine up in neutral and somewhat "clear it out "and most of the time it will go ahead and run if I put it into gear quickly.
The boat idles at around 750 -800 rpm and will run around 65mph at around 5000 rpm on the top end.
All of the problems occur after sitting for a short while and I also have noticed somewhat of a rough idle when idling through no wake zones after the engine is warm.
I tried this week at the lake to prime the bulb when restarting the engine after sitting for a while and it seemed to help a little but not entirely.
Could this be as simple as the bulb itself?? I have inspected the fuel lines and they appear to be OK visually inspected.
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
