what brand and type of 2 cycle oil

I just bought an 1997 bass tracker that has an 1998 mercury force 40 hp outboard does any one know of a good brand and maybe a part number of 2 cycle oil that I should use in this motor.Also should I just use 87 octane or is it better to use a higher octane of gas.

I would use Citgo Sea and Snow just like I do in any other 2 stroke engine I Use
Its about $12-16 a gallon and while some people get all indignant about ugo chavez and Citgo, I do not. :D

Lots of good oils out there.

Any TCW-3 rated 2 stroke oil mixed 50:1

I like the synthetic.....much less smoke.
Pennzoil makes it along with many other brands.
