I just purchased a Johnson 35 HP 1983 it started fine when I bought it in FL. Here on the islands I connected the battery and the green and white wire going from the solenoid to the rectifier melted. The ignition was not turned on. Any help here would be appreciated. Can it have something to do with the cables I am using from the battery which are jumper cables.
