Help please... I'm planning to do a comp test and the clymer manual says to ground the plug wires. do you do this with the plugs in the wires and grounded to the block?

thanks

It's easier to leave the ignition switch off and use jumper cables to jump from the starter to the big red wire on the solenoid. That way you dont have to ground the plug wires.

Too much spark that way! With the switch off, jump from the battery terminal on the solenoid to the yellow wire on the solenoid. This energises the solenoid with much less spark.
