1975 merc 7.5 hp waterpump

Have a real nice shape 1975 7.5 hp Merc. Water output is starting to drop off. Want to put in new impeller and prop seal. Have never done any O/B work on lower end units. Does anyone have any pointers as to the difficulty or special tools needed for the job. Thanks for the input.

I can help on the pump side- it sits down inside the housing as opposed to the housing going over the pump. I zip tie the vanes clockwise, drop it into the housing and then cut the tie. When you remove the old impeller make sure you don't lose the flat key that drives the pump. Shift it into reverse when you drop the lower, nut on the front and nut under the cav plate. Lower will drop, if the water tube comes out with the lower remove it and stick it back up into the powerhead upon reassembly. As far as the prop seal- probably need a puller to pull out the bearing carrier but not too sure on these motors.
