Hi guys. Some of you may have seen my thread in the Resto section about installing a GM 6.2 diesel engine in my old Luhrs 28'. I'm going to freshwater cool the engine with a heat exhanger, but I have a question about the exhaust. There are 2 ways to go:

A) Fresh water to the manifolds and raw seawater to the risers

or:

B) Raw water to both the manifolds and risers

My manifolds and risers are brand new Oscos. Assume I'm going to flush the raw water system with fresh water after every run. Which way would you guys go on this?

Thank you,

Bert

Your Luhrs is a great fish boat, stick with bond-o and you'll be fine.

If you cool the manifolds with the closed system, you may have to increase the size of the heat exchanger to handle the extra heat load.
