Hey guys, I just got my hands on a 1983 Mercury 18hp model #7027685
I ran the motor but noticed a small fuel leek. I pulled the carb to take a look and found that the fuel is coming from the bowl seal. I bought the new seal but when takeing the old one out i noticed that the screws on the bowl were WAY over torqued. These screws have now twisted the bowl so it will not seal at all.
I am trying to find a replacement bowl (1399-8140 I believe is the part number) but it seems that every part I look for for this engine is discontinued. Do you have any idea where I can get one? or any ideas on how to straighten this one?
