35hp evinrude lark 1959,starts fine but seems to run rich on bottom cylinder

topcylinder runs warm and clean,bottom cylinder runs slightly cooler and wet. commpression seems ok, good spark. engine had not been ran for 2 yrs after carb rebld. maybe a gould clean out or rebld carb again?

Make sure you have both of the spark plugs gapped at the same setting. Look for a cracked plug wire to that cylinder or the coil may be weak for that cylinder.

The bottom cylinder drives the fuel pump. If the fuel pump diaphragm leaks, it will flood the bottom cylinder.

Remove the pulse hose from the pump and squeeze the primer bulb. If gas squirts out the pulse hose, you have found the problem. (The pulse hose is the one going around the rear of the head, to the other side)
