I just got an old Sears Ted Williams 10-speed trolling motor model # 217.5905. It has a 3-prong house plug instead of alligator clips to hook to a battery. Any idea what the deal is?

More info: This would be for a canoe and a 12 V battery.

Thanks,
Kurt

Sounds like you need a generator or very long extension cord!! All joking aside, the old owner probally had a wall outlet that he MOUNTED on his boat hooked up to the battery, I would just cut it off & SOLDER on some alligator clits!!
Cheers

Does it matter if I run it on 12 V if it's a 24 V?

Ayuh,... Of course it Matters....If it works at All, it'll be Super Low on Power...
