88 Force 85hp 3 cyl
I know this is probably something simple. Got all three carbs rebuilt, choke works and is connected X 3. Found we had a bad squeeze bulb, too, with loose stuff in it. I have never seen that before. Boat is a little touchy to start but it idles. Once under way it seems like it's running on two, lots of gas smell. Then a few minutes later it lurches and off we go running great. I did put new plugs in this summer and it is fresh mixed gas. Is this a fuel, timing, or spark issue? What's next?

Sounds like it is flooding out a cylinder.
This can happen if the fuel pump diaphram has a hole in it. It will leak directly into the powerhead.

They get old, weak, tear.
Also, the older ones were not ethanol resistant, so they are failing.

Throw in a fuel pump rebuild kit and see what happens. They are about $15.

That makes perfect sense, first I though choke but they all swing together. Then I thought not enough fuel but after smelling it today I think you nailed it. I will be back next Monday to work on it and will report back, Thank you.
