'93 100hp merc, no spark

I've gott'n a lil spark and for a lil while and got good spark for a short time, then nothing. I've cleaned connections to coils and switch box and still nothing. Not sure how to test switch box, stator or trigger. Can anyone help?

A manual would give you the instructions for bench testing the stator and trigger. There is nothing you can test without special equipment in the switch box. With a DVA you can test the input and output of it. The best test is to substitute it with one know to be good.

dont know if this well help ar not ive got a 79 1/2 90 that turned over slow had weak fire the big ground wire that hooks on the plate where switch boxs ar mounted was glowing red got to checking was lose an dirty cleaned t up like a diff moter now turns over real fast got great spark it had very liittle spark before then you could pull plug wiires when runnng you couldnt tell deff sence we fixed ground problem you pull off plug it puts out good spark now hope this well help not a mech but ive sure learnrd alot from this site
