engine stops

I have a 85 Mercuriser 140 HP that seems to run fine at times. When I open it up it will run for about 5 minutes and just turn off by itself. It will starrt right back up as soon as it stops. It only stops when it is at full throtle. I have cleaned the carb but I stilll have the problem. Can anyone help?

you say runs fine at times ? so it will idle fine ? what about mid range? i am no expert, but i have had similar problems, it was float /needle value in carb that was giving me probs, also maybe your fuel pump is starting to go ? how dirty was your carb when you took it apart ? also maybe a air leak some where in the fuel line,
