I'm swapping my 1977 70hp johnson for a 1975 85hp evinrude, will I need to change any wires or just plug and play? They both have a red plug under the cowl that will plug together, just want to make sure they are going to the right place.
thank you, I was trying to compare the harness in the manual, but it is kinda throwing me off. It looks like one wire from the 70 goes to #2 on one and the same wire goes to #7 on the 85. Just wanted to ask someone who knows, because I sure don't. I'm new to boats, learning the hard way first
