I have a 1997 150 johson v-6 that I just rebuilt, and the engine plenty of power, the boat will stand nose out of water but boat will not comeup on plane, do you have any ideas? I have looked at the prop and it appears to be good, I dont see rubber seperating, but Iam wandering if it is letting loose after a certain amout of torques is applied, or do you think it would be the lower unit gears slipping by after a certain amount torque? Please advise

Draw a line across the prop hub and outter flange, run it and see if the lines still align.
Bet you a dozen donuts the hub slipped .
They remold the hubs for under $75.

If the gears slipped, you would hear a thump. A real loud one. Do you have the motor trimmed in all the way when trying to plane? Does motor rev past 3500RPM when trying to plane?
