First off I know this is the wrong section to post this in, but no one seems to answer in the Mercury section 
Hey guys, I recently picked up an old (1982ish) flat bottom 14' jon boat (as some of you know from reading my other thread) and am looking at buy a new 15 hp Mercury 15" short shaft outboard for it. My local gander mountain is selling them on sale for $2199. I was wondering if you all think this is too powerful for this boat or not? Also, what speeds will I be able to see with this motor? 15mph? Thanks in advance for your help!
