Hello, i have a few questions. I have a 1969 Johnson that is not peeing and there is milky oil in the gear case. Will a broken waterpump/impeller is cause water to enter into the gear case?... There is oil coming out of the "pee hole"(not sure if it is gear oil or 2 cycle oil) . Is that normal considering the water pump is not working? How do I confirm that the water pump is the only reason the motor is not peeing. Is there way to check if the water route is clogged without disassembling the entire motor?
Thanks, David

Your `1969 didn't have a "telltale".

Which openings are you referring to?

Water in the gear lube is usually from fill/drain plug screw seals never being replaced.

A malfunctioning water pump will not cause milky gear lube. If you are unsure about the water pump, replace it. Do the fill/drain plug seals while you're at it.

Thanks, DJ. So this motor does not "pee"? where does the water pump rid of the water? how do i confirm the water pump is working? The oil is coming out of a hole on back of the lower unit.
