HI GUYS,
I have been donated a boat for free! not sure of the make but its a cabin cruiser around 18 feet long with trailer and fairly new suzuki 40 hp outboard i am planning on renovating it as its a nice looking boat, but filthy as left in a pasture and only partially covered ,the hull seems to be totally fibre glass and apart from a few scratches seems in good nick.
its gets better as the lady who owns it has a sentimental attachment to it and doesnt want to see it rot away, she also owns a lot of land and says i can work on the boat there and store it too which is great news as i only live round the corner but have limited space to keep it at home.
i started off today collecting the outboard which has been removed and stored in a garage and as i am a total newbie i am trying to find out as much as i can ,wanting to sort out motor before attacking boat. i had an idea to fit it to the inside of a steel oil drum while servicing/repairing it and testing it while full of water, it all seems there but there are one or 2 wires of which i have no idea where they go ,the control box and cables are still attached and seem to work ok, any help in this field appreciated, i am an engineer so i am not scared of any mechanical issues but electrics are not my strong point.
