I`ve got a `74 Merc 165 HP Model 1 drive.
When assembling the two halves of the drive together does the water pump water tube supposed to have a oring/ bushing/ gasket that makes a positive water seal between the upper and lower?
It seems like I`m not getting enough water flow from the drive to the engine.
I pulled the drive and hooked up a hose the the bell housing and the engine, manifold and riser are just warm, not hot. With the drive on it will overheat and yes, the water pump has been changed out.
