I oiled all cylinder walls, replaced all hoses, rebuilt fuel pump, replaced impeller, and then sprayed fuel/oil into each carburetor. She cranked right up, ran rough for a while but then she smoothed out. All the cooling water is exiting through the exhaust and the two ports just below the power head, non through the pee hole. I kept it below 1,000 RPM's, it was on muffs. Is this normal? This the first time it has been cranked in several years.

I'm sorry, it is a 1978 175 HP Blackmax. I installed a new hose from the block to peehole fitting. What are the two rectangular holes in the upper end of the mid section that are discharging water for?

not sure about those ports as i'm not that familiar with that particular motor but you should check the telltale fitting for blockage
