I am posting this after reading Mordekai's post:

I just received a recall notice in the mail about mercruiser engines and the issue with the power steering cooler. It is not a straight Tahoe issue, it is with MerCruiser. I contacted my local dealer and they will take care of it. I did not take it to my Tracker dealer, but the Mercuy dealer. Hope this helps ease everyone's mind about it being a Tahoe issue.

Thanks for the update. Is this recall for 2010's only?

Re: power steering fluid cooler

I asked the dealer today when I took the boat by for them to inspect. He said that it had to do with serial numbers and so much a year. I would suggest looking and taping on the part to see if it is plastic or metal. If you can not tell then take it to your nearest MerCruiser dealer. They will be able to look at it and tell of verify it by serial #.

They had to order the part and it will take 1 to 2 weeks to come in, then 1 day to put on.

Thanks....I'll be checking mine this weekend.

Haven't received a recall notice yet....that's a good thing.

Just got back from a great weekend of boating......checked out my serial numbers and also the part. All is good as nothing is plastic.

Re: power steering fluid cooler

Mine broke on my brand new Cobalt/Mercruiser with 8 hours on it. Stranded us on the lake and it was a mess. Shortly after we got it towed and fixed, the recall was issued. Make sure that if you have the composite power steering cooler, get the copper one that's worked for years. The composite (plastic) piece is junk.
