1968 33 hp, ' magneto wiring ?'

hi, rewiring ignition circuit/key switch, wires when I bought motor were all pretty much disconnected, I found the magneto wires cutoff just below flywheel, is there a reason or configuration I'm missing the boat on ?, why
didn't 'previous mariner at large' wire in the magneto within the ignition circuit,
I have not popped the flywheel off yet, afraid to look in there...:confused:

Good luck with that... My suggestion is to get the service manual for that motor. In the back there is a wiring diagrahm that might save you some aggrevation.
