A month or so ago I bought myself a nice stainless steel Seiko dress watch. Water proof to about 100 feet, it was just the ticket for swimming and boating in the salt water. We were vacationing at my parents house near the beach, and a few days before we left for home my watch was missing. I looked for it everywhere, and eventually resigned myself to the fact that it was lost. Left on the beach, maybe slipped off my wrist in the surf, etc. Oh well, if that was the worst event of the whole two week vacation, I should be happy.
So after we are home from my parents house, I start shopping for a new watch, and buy another Seiko, water proof to about 150 feet, and larger blue face dial that was easier for me to read without reading glasses. This one also cost a lot more. But I'm happy.
So the day after buying the new watch, my Mom calls and said my brother and his wife were out there with them. His two young boys were playing in the bunk beds and found a watch. Mom was wondering if it was mine. Yep, it was mine....
Turns out my 6 year old liked the fact that the watch had florescent marking on the dial and glowed in the dark. He must have taken it to bed with him, fell asleep, and the watch fell down under the mattress.
Today when I asked him about playing with my watch in bed, he denied it. But in all fairness, he probably doesn't remember the event, after all it was about 3 weeks ago. Although when he saw me open the new watch box, he was all ready to run off to the closet with it to see it glow in the dark!!!
So Mom will bring back my watch, and now I have two new watches.
Kids, gotta love them, otherwise you would strangle them!!!!
