7.5 hp johnson transom bracket

I have a 1982 7.5 hp Johnson sea horse. I need to replace the transom bracket. Will a transom bracket fit from other years or motors. Or does it have to be from the same model and hp.
Is there anyone out there that may be able to tell me.

Any of the 6, 7.5 and 8hp transom brackets from the 1980s ought to work. Replace as an assembly - if you start mixing and matching you might run into problems with fitment...
