delco or prestolite distributor

I have a 1984 doral 164 with a mercruiser 3.0L with alpha 1 outdrive .
my concern for now is :

I`m looking for distributor parts ...

is the distributor a prestolite or delco ?

all my searches ask me this question .....how can I know which is on my engine ?

That has a Delco dist in it, and you can tell by it having 2 rubber cap locating lugs held down by the screws that hold the breaker plate down.

My prestolite dist has a metal tag attached to it that says prestolite and has the marine cert number. (think thats what the number is)

Another way you might can figure out which one it is, is to look for parts for it on different sites. I found exploded views of different dists when I was loooking for a part for mine.

There are things that are different on the different dists that you can tell which one you have.

Maybe.

My manual also has a table that shows which years used which dist.

It could be either. They originally came with Delco, but if the diastributor failed and a new one ordered from Mercruiser, the replacement was Prestolite.
Post a picture for positive ID.

the numbers stmped on the hsg are 1110543 3E9 if ever ....

That IS an original Delco distributor.
