You would probably get more help if you didn't yell "use caps" Not sure but sounds like a 60's motor, I had an old 68 johnson 3hp, good old motor. I think the mixture for yours is 24:1

I show a 84GG9007A from 1948-49 and a 94GG9009A 1949-1950, your Model is one of them just not sure what one you have, that should give you a rough answer.

I have a 51 Viking which was the same era, the manual calls for 1/2 pint for 1 gallon of gas, that would be 16:1.

Suspect your motor looks something like this:

It's alright....don't sweat the small schitt. I'm willing to bet your motor is a late 50's motor. Like BK said, I think 16:1 is a good mix to run in it.

The coil is the same as the type as what would be used in any OMC, from 1951 on. Same with points and condensor. Water pump will be a tear drop type though, which is different from most OMC's.

84GG9009A is the model number. Monkey Wards makes it easy. The numbers before the GG are the year---reversed. So, 84 reversed is 48---1948.
