I am in the process of rebuilding my 87 force 125 that lost a ring in #4 cyl. Someone on craigs was selling a 84 I think (sn1258x4a) one rather cheap as a whole with a 20" shaft. After the comp check came up 140 on each cyl after 3 revs I felt inclined to take it at less than half the cost of rebuilding mine! I have a 25". So right off the bat the 20" is up for grabs. The guy I picked it up from claimed to be a mechanic who picked it up at a garage sale . It ran fine in foward and reverse. I am not sure what year the lower unit is. On mine(87) the fill and vent(?) screw on the top are the large flatheads but the drain screw is a allen key. On the 20 inch I got in the deal the DRAIN screw is also a flathead like the uppers. I know that between both motors I have spark on 8 cyls so I know I have at least 1 cd module and 3 ignition coils up for grabs also. Trim pump is not working! Until I check out the pump on it I wont know if the lift cyl is working. Let me know Thanks for looking
