Hi, I have detached what I so far think is all and every nut and bolt, and have been able to lift the crankcase just a bit from the midsection, but it feels like it is stuck. I thought the driveshaft was only conected with a "star" in the lower section, but is there some sort of "locking ring" that prevents me from lifting of the crankcase?
Replies is appreciated :)
regards, Norway

I hope I understand you correctly. You are trying to remove the powerhead ,but it wont come off all the way.Often ,it is easier to also remove the lowerunit gear case.Reason is,the driveshaft slides into the crankshaft about an inch and a half, that denies you the ability to twist and turn the powerhead .There are also alignment pins that prevent spinning of the powerhead even with mounting bolts out.You might find removing the lowerunit a help ,it might also me a good time to replace the water impeller. There are usually powerhead mounting bolts on each side of the engine ,and either nuts and or bolts in front and rear, double check that you did remove all mounting hardware ,its also common that the gasket will adhere tightly to the mating surfaces ,so that too will cause some restriction
