help?! 90hp honda

im looking into buying a 90hp honda for my pontoon boat its a 2006 engine and the seller wants 3500 for it. Is that a good price??

Either that's a pretty good price for a 90 horse, or I got took on my recently purchased '99 50 horse Honda tiller, PPT. Mine was 3200 with the dealer mounting the motor on my boat.

Thats a great price ,but you will never know what you are getting until you ,at least, hear it run,look at the oil for water comtamination,done a compression test,etc,etc.This no different than buying a car with the exception you can pull that car to the side of the road and hoof it.Not so with a marine engine.

I just bought a 90 HP HONDA (2006)- 4 stroke, Paid $6000.00, I have had nothing but trouble with it.
I spent $600.00 on motor Last week & it's back in the Honda service center in Kemah , Tx, & they dont know why it will only put out 4150 RPMs when it should be
6000 RPMs. Doe's that answer your question. I hope this helps you out.
